Mikiyas directed and edited video content for the inaugural Treaty Day Out music festival on Yorta Yorta Country, headlined by Yothu Yindi, Briggs and Uncle Archie Roach.
We are the First Peoples’ Assembly
Filmed on Dja Dja Wurrung Country at the Chamber meeting of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Mikiyas directed, produced, shot and edited the Assembly’s iconic ‘We are the Assembly’ video, which was presented to Premier Dan Andrews and his department ahead of historic Treaty negotiations, and was also played at the NAIDOC 2022 Award Ceremony in Melbourne. Mikiyas also created the original score in the video.
B$$$h Give Me Back My M$$$y
Mikiyas directed and edited the B$$$h Give Me Back My M$$$y video for Melbourne jazz ensemble, Nadav Rayman Trio’s debut album Second Sight.
Mikiyas also produced, mixed and mastered the entire Second Sight album.
Stressless.
Stressless is the first single from rising hip-hop artist and spoken word poet, Tumi the Be’s debut, self-titled album.
Directed and edited by Mikiyas and produced by his independent label, Simmer Town, Stressless pays homage to racial politics, classism and ambition.

Wantok Musik
Mikiyas edited Papuan artist Tio’s Black Butterfly music video, as part of the non-profit foundation Wantok Musik, which brings together First Nations artists across Australia and the Pacific.

Mikiyas edited a video from the inaugural Treaty Youth Forum, where First Nations youth from south west Victoria got together to develop their aspirations for Treaty.
